My young children (ages 3,5, and 8) all enjoy this book, and I enjoy reading it to them. It has a theological depth to it that sparks wonderful questions and discussions, and it does a fantastic job of explaining things to make passages more clear. The story of the fall, for example, has an aside chapter that explains the fall of the satan and his angels that clarifies the story. These asides are throughout the story bible, and I have learned things that had never clicked for me before. The detail in this book is astounding. Several times my husband and I have read something out loud in this book and thought, " that wasn't in the Bible!" When we stop to look it up, sure enough, Vis had pulled up a detail that we just never noticed before. The author's respect for scripture and attention to detail shows throughout the book. Vis is also very talented when it comes to making my these stories dramatic and emotional. The stories are engaging, and even my 21st century kids beg for more every night. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

This is a classic Bible-story book, beloved for many, many years and reprinted many times. Deals with events from Genesis through Revelation. Mrs. Vos, the wife of a Seminary professor, knew the Bible well and loved it, and knew children well and loved them. My parents read this to my brothers and me when we were small (I was 5); we read it to our children; and now we're giving it to our grandchildren because these stories just don't wear out. The book helps young children understand the scope and significance of biblical events, not just the familiar stories. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

I cannot recommend this bible enough. We own the Big Picture Story Bible ("stage 1") and the Jesus Storybook Bible ("stage 2") which are both excellent, but as soon as your child transitions out of the need for illustrations, this is the bible you should be using. Beautiful, compelling narration along with biblical accuracy and pointing to Jesus regularly throughout the Old Testament makes this my favorite. My children (6 and 3 years old) love it too. It will carry them until they "graduate" to a real bible-- I'm (gladly) done shopping for children's bibles.

EXCELLENT! Perfect way to teach the actual stories from the Bible to elementary school children. It handles rough situations in the Bible with sensitivity and gentle explanation. Highly recommend to ANYONE with children in 1st-5th grade. We homeschool and it's a daily read for us.

It has taken us 2 years to read thru with my kids now 10 and 8. They have been engaged in these real life stories the whole time and always ask for more. The stories are well written and accurate to the full Bible. Some stories are less graphic (for example the details of story of David and Bathsheba) but the important theological and sin issues are kept in tact. They are not avoided. The book is written as God's revelation to man all pointing toward Christ.

My children are ages 5-10 and they LOVE this story bible! They request it and we have read it all the way through at least three times already. (We read a section or two just about every night and it takes about a year for us to get through it.) The stories are well-written and I like that it doesn't leave out much. I love reading this story bible to my kids.

I was really blown away by the detail included in the stories in this Bible. My children are 3 and 4, so a bit young for this particular one. But it still holds their attention for quite a while. I am very glad I purchased it as part of our library. Often times my 4 year old is very interested in a Bible story from one of our Kenneth Taylor picture Bibles or the Big Picture Story Bible, and I like being able to go to the Children's Story Bible to give him more information. For family devotions, my husband reads directly from the Bible. This book reminds me of the modifications one might make for young ones when reading directly from the Word. Very well done.For those starting out with young children, I highly recommend trying and buying lots of different children's Bible books. I love all the different things that different Children's Bibles incorporate. And I like that the kids are really drawn to all the different ones. It makes reading and talking about the stories and integrating the truths into our lives easier, as opposed to having just one single Bible story book. And the more I've gotten, the more interested my kids are in our family devotion times where we read straight from the NASB.

Nice Bible stories. Pretty mainstream protestant, taking a smidge of poetic license with the stories, but overall a nice book.

This book far exceeded my expectations. It's science- and medicine-based, with links to reputable research and suggestions for how you can evaluate those studies and find even newer material as it's published. For that approach alone, 5 stars. I've given it 4 stars here because, after studying the book and checking it in relation to my personal health status, I'm just days into actually DOING Daily Cialis! My intent is to update this review in a month or two.Results so far? Firmer, easier and longer lasting sexual response, a healthy lowering of blood pressure, especially diastolic numbers, and (I'm pretty convinced) fewer times up to pee every night - I'm checking all this out with my physician, having just swapped out 5 mg for tamulosin.What do I like most about this book? That it's about a helluva lot more than "Go take a pill." The counseling about sex, sexual response, and being steward of a male body is some of the best I've ever read. Thost is an MD who's specialized in male sexual health and satisfaction - and it shows. I'm sure most of this book's audience is male, but I'd recommend it equally for any woman with a male partner of any age, not just older, who wants to understand how men work, and feel, and worry, and have to fight the tendency to go silent around some of the core issues with their sex and their relationships.What else do I like, a lot? The detailed scoop on tadalafil (Cialis), the documented reassurance many men need about safety when messing with their body chemistry, and more, the well-researched potential for positive health benefits that extend far beyond erections. Tadalafil was first developed and researched to deal with several other significant health issues. Discovering the side effect of "Is that a banana in your pants?" was pure serendipity.I promise to return for an update when me and my 'best friend' have a bit more experience under our belts!

Just like in her previous book, she provides clear, concise information, not just about the advantages of a daily dose of Cialis, but also recommendations to improve every aspect of your sexual performance, including diet, sensual exercises and lifestyle. Dr. Erika is not just a knowledgeable professional but a woman who cares about men and how to be our sexual best. Highly recommended!

There is always so much attention on women's sexuality and why there are problems in a relationship, so it was nice to have some attention shifted to men and equal responsibility for sexual satisfaction.

I recommend this book without reservation. I heard Dr. Thost present this material at a private workshop and found her knowledgeable and articulate. Her book fills in many of the specifics and details that I was seeking.

Vitallty informative reading! The book covers every aspect of this issue and will be helpful for many people...I will recommend it to friends and clients! I agree with Dr. Thost that it does not pay to become complacent about our aging. We went right out and bought the product.,..can't wait to feel the results!

Unexpectedly good. I was put off by how up front she is, but in fact she knows what she is talking about. Every mid-age man should read this!
