Jesus must be the focus.”Drenched in the truth of Christ, Swindell’s words, validated my own struggle with waiting, reminded me that my identity is not found in my weakness, and pointed me towards the One who “will heal every pain and restore every brokenness.”I truly believe that the Lord is going to work mightily through the pages of Still Waiting. Whether you are currently in a place of waiting or just need encouragement, this book is a must-read for everyone.

I wish I could give this book 10 stars. My husband and I have dealt with plenty of waiting -- particularly, waiting to start a family. There are lots of books about infertility and waiting. In a word, this book is refreshing. I didn't really have much hope when I first sat down to read this on a Wednesday morning of my spring break. By 10 AM (a mere 4 1/2 hours later), I had hope that I didn't even know existed. Please, buy yourself a copy to make notes in and then buy another copy to give to a friend.

As one familiar with waiting, this book was what I needed at this point in my journey. Ann beautifully parallels her struggle waiting for healing with that of the Bleeding Woman mentioned in scripture, taking the reader on a journey through the emotions and loneliness she must have felt. Throughout the book, the reader is continually pointed to the truth of the Bible and the love of Jesus.I appreciate Ann's transparency & vulnerability as she took the risk to share her story. I was constantly reminded that my struggle is not without purpose or without hope, as God is working to completely restore me in His time. Jesus meets us in our struggle and loves us just as we are.

This book is a MUST read if you are in ANY season of life! Ann's vulnerability reminds you than you are not alone and gives you hope to stay strong and courageous in the period of waiting that we so often dread. Ann does such a great job of reminding the reader of the Lord's truth and His plan and intent in our lives and points to the thing we often forget -- that the Lord is our ever-present help and guidance! Ann reminds us to stay rooted and believe and hope for new life even when waiting feels hopeless and worthless. This book renewed my focus and reminded me that God is a faithful God! DEFINITELY worth reading!!!

Where is God in all of this? Still Waiting was a beautiful reminder that God is always with us. Even though we don't understand he reasonings, He has it under control and will never leave us. It is still a struggle I face on a daily basis, as I still don't have answers for my health, we still have way more bills and repairs than money to go around, but God is faithful. He will pick me up when I am too weak to stand on my own. I just need to hang on, keep believing, and have hope while I am still waiting.

This book (written by a college classmate of mine) touched me deeply. In it, Ann weaves her own story with that of the woman in the gospels who had suffered with incurable bleeding for many years and touched Jesus' hem in the hope of being healed. I had never thought much about that unnamed woman's story, but as I read, I really resonated with her experience as well as with Ann's. The 2nd graders are learning about Jackie Robinson at school and I thought this would be a great way to rein-force what they have already learned about him in a more comical way. Of course, they LOVE it! Like Meltzer's other books in the series, he has placed fun in history where children puts laughters in the equations of learning history. What a wonderful as always, and bravo for Meltzer. I will continue to purchase more of this series as I have already have a library of them and can't wait until the new ones comes out.

Ordinary People Change the World Series is the best. You can't go wrong. I love that Brad Meltzer's story telling is very captivating and the illustration by Christopher Eliopoulos is so cute. My 5 year old loves it. We read these books every night. Each book teaches that they were just ordinary people who had different struggles in life but they persevere by being courageous and by not giving up.

My daughter had to do a report on jackie Robinson in 1st grade for black history month. This was a great resource and touches on difficult issues in a way that a young child can understand. Her teacher & the other 1st grade teachers borrowed it to use in class. I plan on buying a few others from the series.

We ordered this one, Helen Keller and Albert Einstein. My 7 year old read them in one sitting and has been asking for more. They opened up honest communication on differences and how to celebrate them. Seriously could not love these books more. The illustrations are darling and engaging as well. I have been recommending them to anyone I can.

I bought this book for my son because he loves baseball and I wanted to teach him of this great baseball hero. It’s a really cute book and he loves it. But I was not very happy with the fact the date is completely wrong in here for his first major league game (he has another Jacki Robison book and I caught how different the dates were and looked it up on the internet). That’s kind of a huge thing when you’re using this book to teach kids about and giving them the incorrect information.

All the books in the "Ordinary People Change the World" series are great. Not only will children (and adults!) learn about the historical figures, but they are humorous and beautifully illustrated. I started reading them to my daughter when she was around 2 and I will continue to purchase new ones as they come out and she gets older.

This is one of our favorite books in my son's library. He is only 1 so it's a little past his understanding still, but he loves looking at the pictures and having us read parts of it to him. The book is probably geared more towards 4-16 year olds. It has a great message and is illustrated beautifully.

This is the 4th Brad Meltzer "Ordinary People" book I have purchased for my grandchildren. It seems that adults enjoy these books as much as children do. Each one highlights the "ordinary" person's history and makes it come to life. I learned something from each book even though I thought I knew that person's story. I think I have read each book at least 6 times to my grandchildren. Wonderful writing, wonderful true stories.
